Open fArms Retreat begins our farming season by tapping the maple trees here on the farm.

This is a tradition that was passed from the indigenous people of the land to the early settlers.

Sap flow heralds the changing of the season as we emerge from the deep frost of Winter into the early Spring.

Typically in late February or early March temperatures are ideal for the sap to flow. Where the night time temperatures are in the 20's and the daytime temperatures are in the 40's or 50's.

Attendees will learn the process of tapping trees and making maple syrup in our one day event.

Check our calendar of dates.
